Produced by Phoenix Pictures, who are behind the forthcoming Black Swan, the film will star John Olivier (from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) and Robin Williams (in the role of someone called 'Danny The Dog'). According to Jones (who wrote it) Absolutely Anything is about, "aliens, a goofy Brit, a talking dog and buckets of silliness."

To make sure it has the requred amounts of silliness, Jones has asked the surving Python crew of John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam and Eric Idle to voice the alien characters. They have only made sporadic appearances together in the last few years, most recently at a 2005 performance of the musical Spamalot

It's also a reunion of sorts for Mike Medavoy, head of Phoenix Pictures, having worked with the team before on Monty Python's Life of Brian and Erik the Viking, both of which were directed by Jones. If all goes to plan, expect Absolutely Anything to be in cinemas next year.

Seriously, if this goes to plan I'm going to be frantically looking at my watch until this film is released. I managed to catch the reunion at the Albert hall last year and I've got tickets to see John Cleese later this year, anything to do with Python always gets me excited, so this is great news.
