1 million seems to be the sweet spot for the 360 in this kind of game, so it's an easy choice.

If you shifted the number a bit higher, say 2 or 3 million, I'm assuming the Wii would dominate. Not sure about the PS3

Console/Year 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010*

X360 1 4 10 8 4
PS3 0
1 5 6 4
Wii 1 7 14 9 7

This is 2 million, I imagine it goes more in Wii's favour as the numbers rise.

In total Wii has 23 games sell over 2 million units, X360 has 47, over double! Wii has 31 game sell over 3 million units and X360 has 19. PS3 has 16 over 3 million and 27 above 2 million. So PS3 and 360 both have more games sell over 2 million units than Wii, I guess this just highlights the bad 3rd party support and Wii ever green titles theory even more ...

Oh, thanks for the table (and nice thread btw)

Yeah, the Wii is obviously very top heavy. 3rd parties are important for their wealth of big budget games that sell medium amounts, unfortunately for Nintendo they haven't been on board since the rise of the PS1. Means Nintendo has to drive all the hardware on their own, so the little software they do release needs to sell tons, if they're to become (or now after the Wii, remain) the market leader.
