I don't know what it is that people are seeing that I can't see.  I thought the game had some of the best graphics ever.  I was impressed by the scope, too.  Platforming outside of that ship with everything going to shit was exciting as hell, to me.  I didn't experience any glitches, either--or if I did, I didn't notice them.  And--this is the part that's going to make you all hate me--I thought it looked better than......Uncharted 2.  Sorry.  That's my opinion.  The only thing I had against it was that the analog controls felt a little loose.  I didn't even like the character design for the guy (Monkey, I think  his name was) before the game.  I liked the character a lot after playing the demo.  First impression: 9.5/10

-Am I too easy to please?  I don't think so.

The problem with the graphics is the general look of the Unreal Engine, and on the PS3, if a game uses that engine, it's normal to have an unsteady framerate, some screentearing and dreadful anti-aliasing, all of which can really help make or break the graphics of a game. For me at least. The lack of anti-aliasing isn't that important, nor are the other two when kept seperate, but unsteady framerates and screentearing are both things I hate like the plague when you combine them. Then when you combine that with the lack of AA, it becomes a real nuisance.

No wonder I never win any of those "best graphics" debates.  I like to see the little things that make a game look like a game.  It's like I can see more detail, or something.  Even screen tearing has never been a big deal to me (and I only see it rarely, if ever nowadays--and not once in that demo).

I love those things as well, but I just find that stuff to be really distracting. Which is why Uncharted 2 is a game I hold in the highest regard there, rock steady 30 FPS, zero screentearing and nice anti-aliasing. Which is why I hate the UE3 engine so much in PS3 games, Epic hasn't done a good job optimizing it, so 360 owners get very steady framerates, very little screentear and good anti-aliasing, and PS3 owners are left in the cold pretty much in that regard.

Which is why it was a real heartbraker for me to find out that the game ran on the UE3 engine.

It's still a day one buy though...
