As others have said Wii Music isn't a bad game at all. I think Nintendo didn't do a good job of fully explaining what it was though. It isn't a music game similar to Guitar Hero or Rockband and I think people thought it might be. Wii Music is music manipulator instead of a rhythm game but even understanding that the song library leaves a lot to be desired. They should have at least filled it up with Nintendo game songs if they weren't going to go for more current songs. The Legend of Zelda song is favorite one to play. Some "instruments" work better then others though.
I've had fun with it. The first night I brought it home I had the family try it out and they had fun. In party settings it's fun. Solo it's something I put in when I have the desire to mess around with it. I can't play Guitar Hero because I can't get my fingers to move the way they need to in order to hit the buttons. Frustrating every time I try (and I want to play GH) so I never got it into. This as a welcome change as I just had to simulate the action. The idea of the game is interesting but maybe it was a bit much for people. The game did sell a few million I think so it isn't like it bombed. Just didn't do NIntendo's normal numbers. Though I'd agree it did the weakest out of the "Wii" titled series.
It isn't horrible though and those that say that aren't being fair to the game or what Nintendo was actually attempting.
I would like to see Nintendo go back to it with a sequel. With Motion Plus and expanding and refining what they did it could be great.
