There is not as much gamer media coverage talking about the Wiii because a lot of those people would like to pretend the Wii does not exist. It changed the dynamics of gaming -- and not in a way they would like. As a result, Nintendo will have the top-selling console this generation.
What is not being written about is that unless money-hatted, it is doubtful that third-parties will do a lot of titles that rely exclusively on these motion control systems. For example, Microsoft is predicting 3M units over the holidays. If those are gamers of the more casual persuasion (as motion controller players on the Wii are labeled), why would a third-party expect to have a big seller with such a small base. Most of them run away from making games for the Wii user base -- which is approximately 25 times that size.
