Sony representatives have said recently that they expect WORD OF MOUTH to carry Move into people's homes. They've also stated this week that they won't be outspending Microsoft in marketing spending.

Many journalists have also reported that Move feels like a great controller when you try it for yourself. Add 1 plus 1 and you can understand why the marketing hype isn't a 10 eyed dragon spewing fire all around him.

I've seen Sony buy some very expensive NFL advertising spots, so it's quite a bit more than word of mouth. They are the most expensive  commercials you can buy. I'm going to call BS on not outspending MS when they are buying NFL ads on an ongoing basis.

One NFL ad doesnt not encompass an advertising camapaign.  Maybe they bought an NFL ad because they can reach so many people at once, hence reducing the amount they have to spend elsewhere.  Is it really that hard to believe that Microsoft is outspending Sony?  Of course they are gonna advertise the thing, but it is obvious which comapny has been spending more to this point, I mean the exposure on t.v. and such that Kinect has been getting months before releasing, where Move has had....yeah.  Outside of very few enthusiastic journalists and a few commercial spots, not overwhelming.

It's a lot more than one ad. I've seen them on every NFL broadcast I've watched. That's big money.

Again, maybe they decided going that route was more cost effective than advertising all over the place.  They have said that they're aiming for this to be an evergreen like thing, not massive out of the gate and then stall.  I haven't felt smother by Move advertising aside from your NFL thing, have you?  I mean, this isn't the Halo 3 camapign.  I couldn't use a t.v. for more than 8 seconds without seeing Master Chief shooting someone in the face.
