Yeah you have a point i did read the article, it didnt really cover that. but i imagine its all about treating the gay/biosexual community the same as the hetrosexual, the policy at the moment prevents that equality. however the problem is that i have three gay friends, and personally if i was in their position i would prefer to have my personal life private. so to me it seems Lady Gaga is more interested in the publicity of this type of thing rather than thinking about whats actully best for the non hetrosexual community. |
no she doesn't care about publicity, honestly she doesn't need anymore pubicity so what would doing this do to her popularity? Absolutely nothing.. she's already the biggest pop star on earth..
The point isn't you have to say YOUR GAY to the military, the point is that there are people who are gay in the military who feel hurt that they can't be who they are in the military despite fighting for the very country that denies them their identity.
She has been against it well before she was famous to begin with.. now suddenly that she's so famous, she can't do something nice or it's seen as "She's doing it for more pubilicity". I thought fame was originally meant to develop leaders in our community who can truely be heard. Because last I heard the millions of gays fighting for that policy continue to be ignored, having a huge pop star like her fight for it, adds to the fight significantly, since chances are the senators better support her word, or half of their votes go bye bye since she has the largest fan base out there out of any musician.
