You don't have to do anything. I'm still playing everything just fine on an 8800GT from 2007. However, if I wanted to I could upgrade. That's the beauty of PC gaming- choice.

Well it's more choice than consoles, yes, but there is some point where you will have to upgrade if you want to play the latest games, so it's not all choice. =P

How much do you spend upgrading your PC and how often do you do it? Do you build your own or buy a premade one?
