My TV is about 6 feet from a window but the curtains are always drawn whenever I use the Wii. Its funny actually, that one SMG2 level is the one I was thinking about when I said unregistered motion. Im glad im not alone on this one.

Try to identify possible heat sources. BTW, even direct sunlight off to the side can cause a few problems. Not as bad as on the same wall as the TV, but still something to watch out for.

Heat sources you say? Well my lounge is north facing and my curtains are kinda thin. Maybe the infrared light is shining through?

It's certainly possible. I had the same problem at my parents house for a while, due to them having rubbish curtains and the tv being moderately close to a window. All good now, they seem to love moving their furniture around every few weeks so the TV is now in a dark, dingy corner :)

The sun is so much more powerful than the emitter in the sensor bar, so even if its a bit far away and behind thin curtains, the Wii can often have trouble deciding which it believes to be the sensor bar, especially if it's a game that uses both gyros and the pointer, because the wiimote is moving about more.
