Why did this thread turn into comparing the 360 to the PS3?

OT: It's selling to the existing base who are upgrading, and there's still a lot of buzz surrounding the machine, so new gamers are jumping on board. The momentum has swung again, like on a pendulum, in the direction of the 360. With the remodel, Kinect and Halo pushing it.

Why are people buying the PS3? Both the 360 and PS3 look cool, offer sick games, and the only real difference between the two is blu-ray. Also Arcade 360's are $199, and HD gaming that cheap is pretty appealing.

It began with this. Mostly flamebait and off-topic.

Saying the 360 and PS3 look cool, offer sick games, and the only real difference is blu-ray is flamebait?

"Why are people buying the PS3"? - off-topic.

"The only real difference between the two is Blu-ray" - flamebait.

Now what exactly did the PS3 have to do with the thread? In that same breath, would it be OK to do something similar regarding the 360 in a PS3 thread?

Besides, he asked how the thread got so derailed. It began with that post.

I think you're overreacting. Calm down. It's pretty clear what his intention was.

You know, you often say this - "you're overreacting". Stop accusing people of it, especially since you are notoroius for it.

I was giving you the reason for the quote, and you got on my case. Remember that.

Here we go again CGI. I'll stop doing it, when you actually stop whining about it. You're just having a go at him like you've been doing in the "why Sony doesn't have more huge franchises" thread. I don't overreact, but I find it absolutely hilarious how you try to label me every freaking time I disagree with you. Heaven forbid I have an opinion right? I'm going to stop right now, because you never challenge me on the essense of my argument, but instead use the typical ad hominem attacks.

- OK. You never gave an argument.

Gotta love your typical portrayal of me though, because either I deny it and you continue to preach how much I'm overreacting or I accept it and diminish my own argument. In the future, please STOP accusing me of overreacting and actually debate my argument.

- Again, you never gave an argument.

It's pretty clear Michael was making the point that the 360 and PS3 are two great consoles, albeit similar, and have great games. What's also pretty clear is that you're still laughably inconsistent when declaring flamebait. Nobody can say anything mildly questionable about the PS3 without you jumping down their throat like there's no tomorrow. Maybe if you'd be as adamant a defender of the 360 as you were the PS3, then people wouldn't write you off so fast. I'd love to see you go after "flamebait" and "off-topic" comments as much as you have in this thread, because every thread has at least a few, most of them a whole lot worse than this one.

- If you actually paid attention, you'd understand why I quoted Dallinor in the first place. Quit acting like a victim all the time.

My take. You say I'm whining, but your first quote to me was a complaint. In fact, only time you really ever quote me, is to complain about something. You're usually negative on just about anything (don't get mad at me, the post history speaks for itself) and then quote others accusing them of complaining/whining/overreacting. Don't accuse people of stuff you do, it's annoying.

The point of the quote, Dallinor asked a question. It was answered. And since this is meaningless, I'm done with it.

While you're at it, answer me this, will you ever debate me without saying I overreact when you clearly do the same? Stop acting like what your perception of me is is fact and that nobody else can do the same. You didn't just answer the question, you provided commentary on which I disagreed with, and you made a big hooplah about my disagreement saying I was overreacting as you normally do, and ironically enough, entailed you overreacting.

But make no doubt about it. You insert your opinion far more forcefully against people who criticize the PS3 in the slightest than you do against those on the opposite side. I'm not the only one who notices this either.
