I disagree on you with these franchises having the foundation to become "mega" because PS3 is already half-way through it's life. These franchises have had plenty of time to sell 10 million, but why haven't they? It's because PS3's audience is moe diverse then 360's audience. I mean PS3's best selling region is EMEAA and every country there is different.

Actually the Wii audience is more diverse. Check out the top 15 by sales for all three:

Given the massive wad of shooters in the Xbox 360 and PS3 seller list you cannot really say that they have a statistically significant enough difference in userbase demographics to explain why Sony doesn't have the mega-hit games that Microsoft or Nintendo have achieved this generation especially in relation to the diversity of the Wii mega-hit library and audience between core / mainstrean and completely new comers to gaming.

Well for Shooters, Sony makes Resistance, Uncharted, and Killzone. 3 different shooters competing for the same market share, and spliting the budget for Sony. MS just focused on Halo, and that was my reasoning for why Sony doesn't have a "mega" playstation franchise yet.

For diversity in the top 10, people mock MS all the time, but they really have put out a good portion of great exclusives, most of them have been very successful.

As for Nintendo, just make a good game, something scoring around 9/10, then stick on Wii --, or the name of a key mascot like Mario or Donkey Kong on the front, and your good. If you can't do that resort to a dance or fitness game.

Nintendo also really promoted the Wii well, and It's just awesome, nothing to debate about the Wii.

3 different shooters, yes, but thats hardly a good reason why they don't have a mega franchise from their efforts.

Tease.
