Nope... as soon as you click "start" on the disc channel with a GameCube game in the Wii reverts to GC mode and there is very little difference between it and a GC, you can't get back to the Wii menu without turning it off at the console, Wii remote don't work, you have to save on GC memory cards and the reset button only resets the GC mode.
Luckily I have a wavebird, and if I want rumble back a normal wired controller too
