I actually beat that game once. That was psychologically traumatizing. I decided to never try another RPG on N64 after that.

You beat that game?  I gave up fairly early into that disaster. I hope that it didn't turn you off to RPGs altogether.

I tried to beat Superman 64 once but couldn't stomach freezing that guy and returning him all the way to the beginning of the level while avoiding several obstacles and fighting mind numbingly bad controls.

It was bad, but Quest 64 was worse.
