How did the save system work again?

if u ever played DR1 was a good game but had a funny save system in where to complete game you had to rush through it. was a long time ago i cant remeber specifics but it was along that lines if i can remeber.

Yeah I own that game but only played a few hours.

Has a very criticized saving system with time limits.
