I see where you're coming from, Mafoo, but I don't think it's working at all. The problem is that a lot of people - especially in the political and media classes - flatly refuse to deal with the issue at all. Many of the very same people who insist that Muslims are victims and under constant attack in the US (despite hate crime statistics showing no such thing) will turn right around and list the fact that people may very well be killed over this among the reasons why this stupid book burning stunt is, well, stupid. The irony is totally lost on them.

I'd love to think that this dickbag pastor might accidentally serve some greater good and start a conversation about Islamic extremism and deferential treatment towards particular religions, but denial is a river that flows through too many people's collective anus. If exponentially more articulate individuals like Kurt Westergaard and Salman Rushdie can't wake them up, a mouthbreathing Westboro Baptist Church supporter like Terry Jones sure as shit can't.
