coming from someone who works in gaming retail every single day the worker who looked at you like that was probably startled at how disrespectful you were and was shocked that you would be that willing to go out of your way to interrupt him.

if the man was asking the worker about his opinions on a console the worker had every right to tell him which he preferred, that is after all our job to help sell games.

You should know that's not how it works though in real life, I know more about games than the people I buy my games from and nearly every time I go to EB the guy gives me a headache with his talk about the Xbox. Some 40 year old guy came in once and he wanted to buy a PS3 headset, he asked the employee and he went on a rant on how Live is better and something something and the customer was embarrassed. It happens all the time and it does get annoying, unless the employee knows the customer really well, they should be talking facts instead of opinions.

I've learnt to ignore game store employees and I feel sorry for anyone who has to rely on them for their gaming purchases.

your a core gamer.

We deal with 90% casuals day in and day out.  The fact is that at least 80% of the customers that walk through the doors don't know a ton about video games and really do need our help.  You don't need to tell me stories about how game stores work I'm a manager for one and deal with it every single day.
