An INCREASE for Wii Party is excellent.
And an AMAZING hold for Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Actually that really puts it into proper perspective. Relative to other Metroid releases in Japan it's sales are strong.

best opening week since fusion (how is fusion that old????? that makes me feel old - i remember reading the previews like it was only a couple of years ago!!!).
considering fusion was on a handheld too and other m is a console offering, its even better considering the Japanese penchant for the handhelds. particularly back then when the gba had no real competition.
lets see if it has enough legs to top 100k...

Where is Super Metroid? hmm nevermind, just read in wikipedia it sold poorly in Japan....I guess Metroid was never Japan's cup of tea. That million the first one sold must be bogus, or maybe it was very original for 1986 and fell from grace quickly after...
