Some people will buy a second console just to have one hacked and one with online play. People will still buy games which they want to play online and Sony makes money from the console itself now. Unfortunately, it also means many people with buy used consoles to get one with old FW. Also sales for single-player could go down a bit. |
Future games will only work on 3.42, so even if you manage to backup the game via jailbreak you won't be able to play it unless you hack the game too. On PC this is easy since you have full control over the operating system and there are sw/hw debuggers available. On ps3 this is not the case unless you have a ps3 debug console....
