PS3 might pass 360 but not in 2008 and maybe not even 2009. But it does have a chance to pass 360 in lifetime sales.
Wii came out at the same time as PS3 and it has sold 10m more than Ps3. I expected PS3 to pass 360 by now, but it hasn't. Either people are under appreciating the 360 or too optimistic about PS3 - no real solid reason to believe buyer's love for PS3 - except for BR. I know at least 5 people who bought PS3 for BR.
Also, Microsoft blew it this Christmas too - there seems to have been a shortage for 360 - the 360 pro was sold out in many places.
It doesn't matter that much if PS3 beats 360 or not. The three consoles are here to stay.
