| Exblackman said: I did not say the game is a port the engine is the port.(1) The engine is same made for the hd systems (Call of Duty 4 engine modifed/updated) which Treyarch heralds in their news releases for putting on the wii. So we have engine not design for the wii and made to use more memory and power then wii has not, and expect local multiplayer to be the first to go is kinda weird... multiplayer takes up the most memory out of anything in a game especially in fps... draw distances, frame rates, physics, lighting, and etc then run that four times.(2) Even on hd systems that will cause slow downs and other problems and expect the same engine on the wii to run multiplayer fine is kinda wishful thinking(3) |
1. Well the context of your comment made it seem like that. So I was confused.
2. I didn't know multiplayer took up most of the resources. Had I known that, I would have been more understanding.
Yet that still could have gotten around it. Co-op would of course be out. But again, what about strictly offline competative multiplayer? Even if the maps would somehow be too big for four people, I did mention making Wii exclusive maps made to fit those.
3. Well if the polygons, texturing, and effects were reduced, that would make room, since that would free up resources. But it could be something that only happens with split screen. Single screen would have full graphics. Yes, that would mean making two models for everything, but that could also be done with the HD systems to reduce resource strain. Just a suggestion for next time.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
