Why does Sony fail at making another mega franchise?

So this thread is now no longer "Why does Sony fail at making a mega franchise," it is "How can one man be so relatively proficient at it while no one else can, including the rest of Nintendo." lol

And even HE has made missteps.  At the end of the day, it's just damn hard.  Any company should be happy with even one mega franchise  (Sony, Microsoft), and he has blessed them with many. End of story.
