Why does Sony fail at making another mega franchise?

Miyamoto is one man, but hes a freak of the indusry. How many massive franchises can be attributed directly or indirectly to the man?

Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, F-Zero, Pikmin, Animal Crossing and the Wii Series.  I also discovered he was knighted in France in 2006.  I'm sorry, guys a freak.  Sony can't stop him, but kudos to them for doing better than anyone else. lol

That was actually Satoshi Tajiri.  Funnily enough, in Japan Red/Blue the main character was called Satoshi and I believe the rival was named Shigeru.  Apparently he was his protege.  Miyamoto mentored him and guided him therough the creative process.  So indirectly, he helped with that too.  Unbelievable.
