I would say wait. 

Though in the longer term, I would recommend an Android tablet ahead of the iPad, that is partially because of the choice of hardware that will come LATER. The 2nd generation of these devices will be much better in every way.

Having said that, as far as I can tell, the main advantage of the iPad is the screen and potentially the apps, but the Galaxy tab also has the features as mentioned in the OP, and Android is on the rise and so its apps are certainly catching up. One concern at the moment may be that I don't think there are going to be many apps designed for just the Tab, whereas there are a limited selection of iPad designed apps, though most of them are just prettier versions of the smaller apps

The other main consideration is the physical size of the devices. Personally, I think they are both rubbish sizes, and I think my 4" android smart phone and 16" laptop cover every need I have, but others may see otherwise. The iPad is 10" and the Galaxy Tab is 7", so the question is, which one is more practical in this situation
