Retro Studios is a proven development team.
So I would definitely like to see their take on Zelda. It might even turnout to be something like Shadow of the Colossus or Okami. Which IMO would be interesting and besides it wouldn't be the first time a Zelda game was outsourced. The Minish Cap was a great game after all and weren't the developers at Retro made to play the Donkey Kong Country series? So I'm sure they could do the series justice. Nintendo would likely oversee the development so it would still be true to the series.
