The difference is negligible.  Sony arent any better than the others imo. Panasonic do offer some better sets as do Philips.

Doesn't 'damn close' imply negligable?  At the higher price end though you do start to see Sony and Panasonic pull more clearly ahead, particularly Panasonic IMHO.  Philips are also good but weren't in the four mentioned in th OP hence I didn't bother mentioning them either.

Kow, why if there is the remotest hint someone might be saying something from Sony is a bit better than something else are you always on it?  Can't be good for your blood pressure.

 

Some people enjoy cheap entertainment. That few seconds of making stupid comment is fun.  Good comparison: Samsung LCD TV to Sony LED. Wow. Perhaps they should be the same price?
