i liked the demo, i love the speed of the game.. but i hate when it randomly puts you into slow-motion because when it ends it causes you to overheat leaving you more open then you were before because you can get away fast enough  

It's not a random occurrence; it means that you've suffered critical damage and you need to make use of the AR time either to eliminate the current threat or to get your arse to cover before you overheat.  A safety mechanism, of sorts.

i see, is there any to stop it before you overheat?

As far as I can tell, there is no way to cancel out of it.  I would suggest that it's also a sort of penalty for taking that level of damage.
