Any news on the jailbreak case?

Ok, so Sony won. Can anyone explain to me why this matters so much?

People will inevitably port it to work with different devices. As I type this, Chinese factories are probably planning to churn out cloned jailbreak devices that function the same as the $100 devices that Sony won an injunction against. The main difference here is that the Chinese devices will probably work just as well but be hard as hell to control.
