I like the idea of it, I'm always a fan of playing different and this idea reminds me of an old game where you played as a creature that slowly evolved. After a few stages you would evolve into a completely different animal type like going from a fish to a lizzard. I hope I get to play as that tiny dog, that would be great if for nothing else than hilarity's sake.
