To whoever said it, Sakura Taisen isn't exactly niche in Japan.  Or least wasn't, on Saturn the games sold around half a million each and even on DC they still sold around 300k.  Things have been downhill since ST2 admittedly though,and ST5 basically bombed on PS2 (just ~150k iirc). :/

The current rumor is that Sega's going to release the Wii version of ST5 in Japan this fall, but I wouldn't expect much.  Like 50k tops, it's a barebones port and years too late.
