(I stopped playing Prime several months ago after trying to beat the Omega Pirate something like 20 times, maybe more...).
I forgot the exact details, but there's a very specific guide on how to beat him in the hardest mode of MP1. I couldn't touch the guy in hard mode until I read this guide, and it explained how to do everything. Don't worry though, after him, the rest of the game is a cake-walk. Just go to Gamefaqs if you want a guide with some help.
