| Spectrumglr said: this thread is full of damage control...as the end of 2010 doesn't look promising for ps3 in comparison with x360 you are focusing on 2011. Ok, that's fine but just remember to put into the equation that none of those exclusives is on par with GT5 that will be released in november ...those might be good/great game indeed but surely, even combined, don't have the same hype surrounding GT5 (=if you expect those games to move the market towards PS3 you are going to be disappointed: to the majority of the people that are still waiting to buy their console those titles mean nothing) |
What damage control do you speak of? The PS3 and 360 have both had great lineups this year. The 360's lineup this year has more playability. Still, this doesn't leave the PS3 any weaker at all. Exclusives give luster to a specific brands value. If they do not have this, they might as well kiss the highest possible sales for that year goodbye. This is not damage control. As I've said...2011 is going to be abnormally dominant on Sony's part with Microsoft taking hit after hit from the hardcore standpoint. They might gain casuals, but when the chips fall on the hardcore games (which the PS3 will obviously have next year) even some 360 and Wii owners might increase PS3 sales. The whole point of this is that I am worried for Microsofts hardcore sales next year.
