| Kwaidd said: Granted, I haven't played the game myself yet, though I expect to still buy it Tues. despite the amount of negativity surrounding it. What I have read reaffirms something I've believed for years and unfortunately fullfills my fears. I think Other:M should be considered a resounding message to enyone who has ever complained that Link or Samus don't talk, that they never should. I wouldn't mind a little more story or background of the metroid history or of Samus herself...but cutscenes that extend for over 10 minutes and have the potential to make Samus appear to be a whiny, orders following, damaged goods girl could ruin the overall perception of her character for all time. It detracts from the bold, strong, self sufficient heroine that she has always been, and that's unfortunate. I guess I will have to see and endure for myself on tues., but I'm sad to think that trying to take such a storied franchise into a fresh direction has also tampered with it and had negative results. |
They already had, the Zelda CD-i trilogy
