Looks like my prediction may be pretty spot on. The PS3 may JUST be able to sell about 8.7 million by the end of the year. That's damn impressive for that console, considering many thought it wouldn't have broke the 7.5 million mark.
Good stuff. I'm happy with these numbers so far. So long as PS3 is here to stay, I'm happy. Who cares if Sony doesn't win this generation - they've already won twice in a row. They did a LOT for the industry - innovated like Nintendo did with the NES back in the day. If it wasn't for the PlayStation, I'm sure the Xbox would not exist.
End of Year predictions:
Wii | 17.5 million ----> 19.20 million as of new year
X360 | 16 million ----> 16.02 million as of new year
PS3 | 8.7 million -----> 8.86 million as of new year
DAMNN I really underestimated the freaking Wii - Sheaaat!
Lifetime Sales
Wii | 60-80 million
X360 | 50-60 million
PS3 | 100+ million (I believe the PS3 will still be around when other NEW consoles arrive...there won't be a PS4 for quite some time.)
