since Nintendo usually makes conservative estimates, lets take 1,800,000 as the minimum number of units they can make in a month. Assuming they pay people to work overtime, and they crank these things out as fast as possible, making up the missing 350,000 units over 5 months turns out to be an actual total of only 70,000 more units per month. Just like every other console, the Wii is going to experience a drop-off in sales next week. Quite likely the worldwide total for it will be sub-600,000 (if I had to guess, I'd say lower than that, even). That's still not much more than their minimum production estimate, though. And that's also assuming that they've only stockpiled since August, which seems unlikely given what we know of Nintendo's practices.

Let's not forget that now is the time Japan takes off! Close to the New Year and the whole of January.

So I'd say, ~250k in Others + ~150k America + ~250k Japan = ~650k worldwide which is not that shabby!
