So this thread got me thinking about my multiplatform games and thinking why I got each game for each system.

So I'm curious for you people who had to choose what platform to get a game, why did you choose the platform you chose?  Note that I'm not interested if you only have X system and that's why you bought the game for that system.

For me:

  • Dragon Age: Origins (PC) - I wanted the editor and it's not good on consoles
  • Left 4 Dead 1/2 (PC) - I wanted the editor and played often at work with coworkers
  • The Orange Box (PC) - best version and cheaper
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC) - best version
  • Unreal Tournament III (PC) - best version and I wanted the editor
  • Red Dead Redemption (360) - friends on XBL
  • Super Street Fighter IV (360) - friends on XBL, D-Pad equally bad on both, I could get a snazzy controller for the 360 easier
  • Bioshock 2 (360) - achievements
  • Bayonetta (360) - best version
  • Borderlands (360) - friends on XBL
  • Left 4 Dead 1/2 (360) - friends on XBL
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 1/2 (360) - achievements, friends on XBL
  • NCAA games (360) - achievements
  • Madden games (360) - achievements
  • Red Faction: Guerrilla (360) - better version
  • Bioshock (360) - only version at the time
  • The Orange Box (360) - achievements, better console version
  • Gears of War (360) - PC couldn't run it well, prefer controller/couch
  • Mass Effect 1/2 (360) - PC couldn't run it well, prefer controller/couch
  • Saint's Row 2 (360) - Achievements
  • The Elder Scrolls IV - Game of the Year Edition (360) - Achievements
  • Eternal Sonata (360) - only version at the time
  • The Force Unleashed (360) - achievements
  • Fallout 3 (360) - Achievements
  • Blur (PS3) - only version I could find
  • Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - best version
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3) - free DLC
  • Dead Space (PS3) - wanted a game with trophies

Note when I say achievements, I mean I prefer achievements over trophies.  Simply a personal preference.
