For some reason though there is an error with my game/game data. I played it through on Hardcore, all the way from the start... No changing. And it wouldn't accept that I'd beaten it ON Hardcore. Or it might have been Insanity. I forget which one comes first.

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure for ME1 that you have to clear the game once to unlock Hardcore difficulty. Then you have to clear it again on Hardcore to unlock Insanity difficulty.

I beat it once. Then started from the beginning on Hardcore with my Shepard. I actually changed the difficulty TO Hardcore while you're stood in the cockpit after Joker and Kaiden are talking.

That's strange, then it should have been alright. From what I've read, you have to have the difficulty set before you land on Eden Prime and you should be ok. I wonder why it didn't give you the achievement?

I never actually played the harder difficulties as I already had ME2 when I finished ME1, so I just started playing ME2 right after clearing ME1.


I thought you had the set the difficulty during character creation.
