And the tone of his blog is not the way you potray him. You don't have to like his points, but making a strawman of how he writes just makes you look whiny and vindictive, while projecting it on him. He's even stated this game might be good, just the focus should be on exploration of strange worlds, not on characterization. And from what I've seen of the gameplay, it looks as though the explrations has been reduced, and having lots of corridors to run down. |
Running down corridors and shooting stuff was a good amount of Metroid games in the past. Corridors outnumber central areas handily in any given Metroid game (except possibly Prime Hunters, arguably the least Metroid-y game)

Like saying "I'm convinced that the Zelda team hates the core gameplay of Zelda and does everything they can to not use it" or calling people looking forward to Other M "Sakamoto Cultists". Pachter chewing him out a month or two ago really should have made him reexamine his mindset. Anyway, getting back to the topic at hand (I really, really apologize for that divergence, I really do), I am very much looking forward to how Samus is conveyed. |
Pachter chewing him out was actually a very good thing, as it proved that his method is getting results. If he were just a fringe internet nut, why not ignore him like all the other fringe internet nuts? Indeed, i thought it was monumentally stupid of Pachter (and other analysts who have responded to him) to do so, because it was their choice in that moment to see whether he would remain a fringe nut or not, and decided to validate him.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
