If -220,000 YoY is down "severily" (severely), then we have very different definitions of the word. Now, if you were talking about compared to 2008, then you might be on to something.

Nevermind it's actually up YTD in Japan and the US versus 2009.  People are making too many proclimations without actually looking at the numbers.

Funny thing is 2008 had over 11million in the same time frame (a real severe difference to 2009/2010), yet 2009 still had a larger holiday.
