I've had my PSP for 18 months now and it's not broken (yet) and I've not had any UMDs fall apart.

Yes the DS has a great collection of games, but the DS does not tick all the boxes in gaming types, whereas I feel the PSP does do that...and by the end of the year will have a better selection of games overall the gaming types than the DS.

I'm sure the PSP is not designed to self-destruct after repeated usage, but based on my personal experience, I would not like to see a PSP dropped from a distance four-to-five feet high onto the pavement. You can pretty much kiss the PSP goodbye if that has ever happened to you.

By contrast, I've dropped the DS Lite three times under similar circumstances - once with the screen open - and the most that's happened to it is the typical scratch on the corner.

And I echo your sentiments about the DS's game library. Apart from Mario Kart DS, there is not one racing game that I would consider anything but a complete waste of time playing.

Unless your prone to dropping expensive equipment from four or five feet, then I think you're okay.  Also I carry my PSP around with me in a protective case anyway...but you're right....the PSP does look like it would shatter if it hit the kerb.

Regarding DS/PSP game libraries, I think this is something that should be elaborated on in a fresh post.

I'm sick and tired of hearing the age old excuse of no games for the PSP and a huge plethora of every game imaginable for the DS....I think all us gamers need some clarity.
