Yeah, that would be smart...
Make the USB only work with controller and PSP, then they can go on about photo features, only with no way to get them on your PS3. 
Unless they go ahead and say you need a USB cord and a PSP, along with a Memory Stick Pro Duo in order to put photos on it.
Would be a spectacular move...
