Or what if it was a technical reason? I mean; porting early unreal engine games to PS3 is a horrible pain in the ass and I can assure you porting Mass Effect 1 over to the PS3 is just not a good idea financially. You have to port the game over, and chances are it's going to run like trash and have half the texture resolution in the game unless they rework the game from scratch. Mass Effect 2 was probably made for the PS3 hand in hand with the 360/PC version (The PC has an ini file that sets up player stats and such for each console including the PS3) so they were probably sitting on this game for a while and it probably runs well enough with little to no compromises. Throw in all the DLC from the game and maybe a few extras and they should be able to sell the game for full price. In other words; this game is going to bomb hard with its $59.99 price tag.
