My guess is that Apple does not, how do you say, really watch to see if the IP of its competitors is respected in the offerings on its systems as much as Apple watches the offerings of its competitors to make sure they respect its IPs.
I know for example, there has been an app on the iPhone which played sound effects from SMB.
