Hawking mentions that the point of us colonising a new world would be because we "may be" the only sentient beings in the galaxy. yet i see this as an almost impossibility, we are less than a fraction of what exists in the milky way galaxy, theres no telling how many other solar systems exist similar to ours. and my personal feeling on the matter is summed up when Hawing says: "... our genetic code still carries the selfish and aggressive instincts that were of survival advantage in the past." my point is that theres no way we in the western/ developed world have the right to another planet, when we cant look after our own. what do other ppl thinK?? |
I kinda agree there, we have REALLY messed up Earth in a BIG way.
BUt for technologies sake I am ok with making some sacrifices.
