Uhm 300k would be already a lot for a Metroid in Japan! But it has elements to sell well: 2d/3d gameplay, huge story, marketing push by Nintendo, few Wii games before it. Really if it doesn't sell 200k Japan will have disappinted me.

I always think the First person perspectives and relatively unknown western developer has hindered the Metroid Prime games in Japan.

I honestly think that if Nintendo push the fact that team Ninja is partly developing the game, the game could sell well. 800k is a lot, but not possible.

 

 

Shit, just looked up how much past Team Ninja games such as DoA or NJ have sold, I was under the illusion it was quite well, but it isn't anywhere near that.

On second thought, Other M wouldn't go near 800k in Japan.
