Agreed, the script writer for FFXIII should be shot. Anyway that is for another thread haha The maker from what the game tells us is the highest authority, the being that made everyone else, possibly even the other gods (lindzei, etro, hallowed pulse). The goddess that saves cocoon isn't actually directly mentioned as being a particular person. If you remember the events in the war of transgression, it was Vanille who couldn't pluck up the courage to join with Fang to become Ragnarok, as the analects are written on pulse they may be "biased" towards pulse society, so some people have theorized that the "goddess" thats mentioned isn't really a goddess but more a "metaphor" for a person who took pity on cocoon and saved them, apparently thats Vanille. But again thats all speculation from fans. A more realistic thing would be that the Goddess Etro simply saved Cocoon back then. Barthandelus wanted to kill people so that the door of souls Etro has to open would be overwhelmed by souls of dead people going through and so that "door" would remain open, he thought this would bring the gods back, the maker back. It is slightly confusing, and no-one knows if he would have been successful. But he is similar to an infant trying to cause havoc to get his parents to come back, thats the meaning I got from his actions. The game leaves questions unanswered, for example there is another analect that speaks about the Arc's that were built (the arc was the place that chapter 10 took place in). Apparently the Arc's were built long before Cocoon was made as a means to prepare for a "greater evil".......the game never expands upon this "greater evil". I never got all the analects I read about this one online, I believe you get it after finishing Mission 64. I hope Agito XIII and Versus XIII will expand on this great mythology they have created and maybe tell us why the God's abandoned cocoon/pulse and what this "greater evil" is. |
It's possible we'll never know, I always felt that chapter 10 was useless, it actually makes more sense for Barthandalus to get his monsters from Pulse itself since everything he used wasn't in the ark (Or still sleeping, still). It'd be nice if we could see that cutting floor for the game; it's a bit barebones and I'm sure there's a bunch of story peices missing but let's hope they shoe horn a lot of the story into Agito and Versus. On another note I couldn't help but notice you couldn't get into the second disc of Final Fantasy VIII, I say take the game a bit more light hearted; Squall grows and the side kicks are quite funny. That game's world is pretty damn thick too; like they kinda did in Final Fantasy VIII with what they did in Final Fantasy XIII's Pulse. Though like Final Fantasy XIII a lot of the history of the world is in the terms and gets unlocked as you play. But I've noticed you either like that game or hate it, but anyways thanks for the info X-Box-Man
