yea, according to several reviews the Panasonics seem to be even a little bit better, but they are also more expensive in purchase and operation
btw I personally don't like the plasma flickering I saw displays do at shops (even the new neo pdps) - it seems not many people notice that, but to me it looks annoying, although I don't know if that's fixable with custom settings
