I got to the mission where your supposed to snipe an important dude (its pretty close to the beginning) and thats where I gave up......on hardcore

I donr MW1 on Veteran first playthrough. It was tough, but easier than Legendary on Halo 3 for example.

Weird I think Halo 3 on legendary so much easier then any of the COD's (or Halo and Halo 2 for that matter)

I found with COD it was just a respawn issue. Bad design. Once I worked that out, I ran upto a building as hard as I could to stop the respawns and it was fairly easy then.
COD tries to make it harder by infinite respawns. You can snipe for as long as you want. Enemies just kept respawning. Killing any strategy.
With COD for me it was learning a susytem. Halo isnt.
