Still doesn't respond because Xbox360 having more console base, overships less than half units than PS3.


My point is ask Sony because our data is perfectly in line with GFK, ChartTrack and so on which is the data everyone else uses. So the options are as follows:

  • Sony has some kind of strange intricacy to their tracking which "inflates" their numbers vs sell-through
  • There are an enormous amount of PS3s being sold through channels or in countries that aren't trackable
  • VGChartz, GFK, NPD, Media Create etc etc are all significantly undertracking PS3 sales but not any other console in the regions covered

Personally I think it is a combination of the first (mainly) and second options. Since our EMEAA data takes into consideration regions like Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Korea, Russia, India, Middle East, South Africa so I can't really see which other major missing markets could be remaining unless 1m PS3s were sold in Egypt last year or something...

 

I trust the site but we're not actually in line with gfk in Australia and NZ.
