In my opinion, No way in hell. Given what Nintendo's track record is.
Quick, when is the last time Nintendo got equivalent or great Third Party support? To me that was the SNES generation.
I just don't see Nintendo breaking the bank to make a competitive console in power. And (If they aren't in the 'porting loop' as another poster mentioned) then they will lose out on a ton of third party games between the HD based consoles. Beyond that, I think third parties shy away from Nintendo products because of what I call the 'Mario clout'. They just don't sell as well because Nintendo first party really steals the spotlight.
