Dune II, yeah! Too underrated and forgotten. I loved it. Played it before my PC days, in 1994 on the Amiga. I never liked the Command & Conquers nearly as much. Dune II almost deserves a remake.

ut I know Age of Empires II sure does! Is at least in my top 5 of games that left the biggest impression on me. No, make that top 3. Vikes, Toots, Chinks, Japs, Byz. My first big game online ( 1000 hours). Oh man how I miss those days when AoE II was big online. Every night logging on to the Zone to browse those lobbies.

Yes, Dune II is a milestone in videogaming. I don't think it's underrated or even forgotten as It made C&C, WarCraft, AoE, StarCraft and all other RTS games possible.I bought it shortly after European release for MS DOS in early 1993 and was blown away. I also loved it much more than C&C though both games came from the same studio. Dune II was already remade in 1998 by its own creators Westwood as Dune 2000 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3Ejr6GSk2g and fan remakes/expansions of the original gane are available as well, as far as I know (I never played them).

Age of Empires II is one of the best RTS games ever created (but Dune II left the bigger impression on me that's why I listed it here). I know you're not a Civ fan, but did you know that the AoE co-designer Bruce Shelley also co-designed my no. 1 game, Civilization? As I love games which give you the chance to re-play human history, Civ and AoE will always be among my most favourite franchises.

I'm not really interested in a remake of AoE II though as I doubt I'd play it again. Dune 2000 left me unimpressed 12 years ago and I bet the same would happen with a 1:1 AoE II remake with improved graphics. The only RTS games I want remakes of are Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2. Those games are still unique today imo and I'd love to see them remade.

Ahh, now that u say it, Dune 2000. I heard bad things about it so I never tried it.

Yeah I vaguely remember that about Bruce Shelley.

Speaking of Civ I am truly going to try to get into Civ 5. I aboslutely love playing human history too.

I'm looking forward to Dungeon Siege 3 as well.
